The Unbreakable Code | Sara Hoagland Hunter

John learns about his grandfather‘s service as a code talker during World War II in this picture book for older kids. It‘s a story based on the experiences of code talkers as they navigated the army and developed the code that could not be broken. A pronunciation guide in the back helps readers practice the Navajo language. #BBRC #PictureBook #LetterU

LibrarianRyan Cool. When I saw the notification I thought it was far 9mo
Librarybelle @LibrarianRyan That was the first one that popped up in all of my searches! It gets confusing when different books have the same titles 😂 9mo

Phenomenal book to introduce children to the idea of coding without overwhelming them with actual code. They will still learn how to break down a task and basic coding vocabulary.

This is a discussion of the idea and applications of a machine learning model. Valiant argues that PAC can be generalized to study human learning, cognitive development, and biological evolution. Alas, the discussion is not on a popular level and I did not always follow his arguments, nor could I judge their validity. But to the extent I could, I found it a useful grounding for thinking about how we got here & how we keep going.

Great book, lots of action, intrigue, sex - all my favourite things! (except food)... Right up until the ending which I felt was a bit rushed. I feel a little like the author just wanted to sum it up quickly. Still a good read though.

A cool way to introduce terminology like algorithms and coding to a child. This is my last book in the Baby Loves series and I would highly recommend it! I‘m going to be adding it to his collection for when he gets a bit older. 5⭐️
