While trying to decide what manga to borrow from my library, I decided that something from Clamp might be fun and picked one I hadn't read but saw a few images of when I was a teen. As is usual with Clamp, the character designs are fun! I didn't enjoy the story as much, though. I liked the over-the-top drama of game/sports manga like Yu-Gi-Oh and this one in middle school but it lost its appeal. I also hated the professor character. #manga

Throwback to breakfast, when I devoured more of X. Volume 9 was my favourite yet. I loved it so much that I went ahead and requested the next two omnibi, even though I‘ve got a ton of other comics in transit for me.

I thought a while about what book to use for #DecemberSong prompt 3, Let It Snow. Finally, I remembered that this volume of Legal Drug (now Drug and Drop) has a big snowstorm toward the end for like... 3 pages. #Manga #PhotoChallenge

I love CLAMP. Their art style is just so whimsical and gorgeous. This is a cute little (only 4 volumes) love story that is just pure sweetness.

June 5: Cardcaptor Sakura was one of the first #lgbtqbook(s) I found that was more than subtex. It's a beautiful story about a girl who discovers her own magic and figures out how to navigate this new part of herself in her everyday life. There are several #lgbtq characters. I planned to read a lot and walk a lot today, but I woke up exhausted. Blah.

Even if I can‘t do as much as I wanted, I‘d love to finish WISH and make it through a big chunk of SWEEP OF THE BLADE by Ilona Andrews. #easterextravaganza

This is the first week where my #bookreport mostly ignores my weekly forecast. I finished THE OPPOSITE OF DROWNING (amazing) and two volumes of WISH (really good), but STEPPING OUT IN FAITH didn‘t grab me and I never even touched HOUSE NAME.

Because I reached for Ilona Andrews‘s Innkeeper Chroniclers on a whim and ended up reading the first three books back to back. It‘s been ages since I did that with a prose series.

I had my first outdoor reading session of 2020! None of the furniture‘s out of storage yet, so I sat on the step and used an empty grass seed pail as a table.

I often love Clamp works, and this one is no exception. I love the characters, and enjoy that they purposefully reuse characters from other Clamp properties as a function of the plot.
