I want to believe there was a time when the Dumbledore brothers looked at each other like this, with mischief and #trust.. Much of Albus's life was rife with regret for what happened. We know it impacted on his attitude to his students--his patience & compassion, and now Harry has some insight into what drove him.

I am pretty sure Snape wasn't feeling hatred when he cursed Dumbledore, so I am also sure that Harry isn't reading Snape's emotions accurately at all. Interesting to think that the same thoughts flowing through Snape when he did (what he had) to Dumbledore might be here now as he confronts Harry - despair, inevitability, regret. Those words might be more true.

I don't think this is Snape's worst memory because of James and Sirius. I think it's because of Lily's betrayal, provoked by his own attack of her. It's a damnable situation and I wish Harry learnt more from it. George and Fred's disillusionment with the system finally happens. It's positive that Rowling condones academic success and choosing another path.

So many regrets. But mostly it's Crouch's mistakes, and Harry's what if Snape hadn't held me up. Victor finally gets to exhibit character, Dumbledore exhibits his usual patience and lack of judgement, & Winky is a sorry mess. I am also proud of Hermione's dignified reactions to the hate mail.
