Delightful doesn't even begin to describe this incredibly fun but also thoughtful bi-for-bi historical romance. A soft thief with a heart of gold and a penchant for crime a la Robin Hood and for brusque woman who order him around? A prickly determined woman new to crime but fiercely committed to protecting those she loves? A couple who falls in live via letters which start out as notes between enemies? Queer found family of criminals? I love it!

To whoever is stalking me for #staycationintime swap I've done a bit of research & IF you are going down the route I mentioned on my form, the above tagged book & the ones on the picture will work for the states I'm missing. Hope this will save you some time! 😂😂😂 They're all on my Litsy list, but a bit of a way down.

What a journey. This is Emezi's debut romance, so I went in with plenty of genre-related expectations. The book immediately thwarted them. Feyi begins the story coming back to life after the death of her husband. Not even 30 and already a widow. What follows is a gorgeous, sensual (the food!), and very queer (bi for bi!) romance. If you find the beginning chapters flat, persevere! I read them as intentionally mirroring Feyi's interior state.

A perfect book? Just lovely: gorgeous, understated, evocative prose; a rich sense of place; a focus on pleasure, beauty, and growth while not forgetting pain, loss, and grief; intricate queer characters whose lives felt so true. LaCour follows two women, Emilie and Sara, from teenagehood to late twenties, charting their journeys until they have a chance meeting and are instantly drawn to one another. This book made me feel good about being alive.

Formally and thematically interesting and accomplished poems, but they didn't move me emotionally which is pretty much all I want from poetry.
I did really like the imagery in "Small Claims Court":
"I took the twenty-seven bones from my left hand / and made a xylophone on which to play you love songs. I dragged a wheelbarrow / of sugar backwards over the parking lot / so the ants could spell out your name"

This YA thriller about a bisexual teen girl who is the daughter of a con artist was page-turning. Nora escaped her mother 5 years ago. But her past is comes back to haunt her when she, her gf, and BFF/ex are taken hostage in a bank robbery. The edge of your seat story in the bank is interspersed with Nora's years with her mom and her more recent past trying to heal from her trauma. A dark story, but ultimately hopeful. Nora is a badass survivor!

Loved this YA book that I just finished!!!! I enjoyed the character development and the involvement of the queer community… I really appreciated this book and know it would help a lot of young adults who are still “coming out” !!! Loved this 👍🏻#sophiegonzales #perfectonpaper #gaybooks #bisexualbooks
