Oh, I can SO relate! (From a slightly different cause - I have chronic shoulder pain which, pre- bedtime meds, would unfailingly wake me up at 2 AM. Ugh. )

I‘m thoroughly enjoying this witty, super helpful guide to help keep your life stable while dealing with a mood disorder. In graphic novel format!
She has bipolar disorder, but I can see where it would be super helpful for those with anxiety, depression, SAD. In addition to doctors, therapy and meds, of course. I‘m buying a copy for work.

I compare myself with my former self, not with others. Not only that, I tend to compare my current self with the best I have been, which is when I have been midly manic. When I am my present "normal" self, I am far removed from when I have been my liveliest, most productive, most intense, most outgoing and effervescent. In short, for myself, I am a hard act to follow.

Hoping this is good and light. I need something light with a bonus of being funny. My depression from my bipolar disorder is kicking my butt and the last book didn‘t help with how dark it was (even though it was good). Wish me luck.

Megabooks Sending hugs!! I have bipolar as well. This book is light, so I think it‘s a good choice! 1w
The_Heeler_Booklife @Megabooks bipolar is rough. Also, I‘m already struggling with this book. 😭 Maybe it is me, maybe it is the book, but I‘m struggling. 1w

Megabooks @The_Heeler_Booklife honestly, it‘s a light read, but I bailed because the writing was juvenile and the characters were vapid. 1w
Megabooks Maybe it‘s because I love nonfiction, but sometimes a NF book on a topic I‘m interested in can get me more out of my head than fiction. 1w
The_Heeler_Booklife @Megabooks I think of doing bail. I already switched books. The writing is stuffy and I agree juvenile. I feel like right now everything is one dimensional. 1w
DaveGreen7777 Sorry your depression has been overwhelming! 😔 Hope you get some relief soon! ❤️ 1w
The_Heeler_Booklife @DaveGreen7777 thanks. Fingers crossed when I go back I get something to help. 1w

Pickpick

Really appreciated this book and thought the non-linear format added to Terri Cheney's story.

Finished this yesterday and really enjoyed it. It was a little predictable and some of it felt repetitive, but this is such an important book, and I am so thankful that I‘m able to offer it to students in my 8th grade classes. This will be 1 of 7 books dealing with issues of justice and varying perspectives that my English dept is using for a new book club unit. Making my way through the rest of the books this week before we start mid-Feb.

Just finished this! I have mixed feelings about it. I think it depicted the maniac and depressive episodes of bipolar disorder well. However, i found the solutions to her problems, especially her mental health to be very idealistic. Each problem seemed readily solved. I also think the romantic relationship did not add anything to the story. Overall, it's a good depiction of bipolar disorder but not a great plot or development based story

Finished my first book for readathon (nearly 2 hours in)! I don‘t know what to make of this story as I still can‘t decide if it was believable or what it was going for...but it was a pretty good read as I tried to figure that out. I picked it up cause of a student rec so this is one book off my TBR pile.

LibrarianRyan Yeahhh. I won't lie, I was not a fan of this title. I DNFed it. 2mo
Shakespearience @LibrarianRyan I just kept waiting for things to be explained and the things I wanted explained never really were. Not to mention the way the townspeople acted seemed so bizarre. Like I get that small towns can be weird...but this felt like a cult. 2mo
