Pickpick

QUEENS OF GEEK by Jen Wilde is a contemporary YA that is filled with awesome female friendships. Like most fangirls, it wears its heart on its sleeve, and I absolutely adored it.

Check out my bio for a link to the full review.

Chachic What are butterbings? Looks yummy. 7y
BookThingo @Chachic I'm obsessed with butterbings. They're like brownie sandwiches with a buttercream filling. SO GOOD. 7y

Aussie author Sandra Antonelli is on the #podcast talking about older heroes and heroines in romance. Why is it so hard to find characters over 40 in romance? http://bit.ly/2nk9VAx #aww2017

jenniferhallock Penny Watson has two lovely novellas with 40+ couples. This is one, and it's a foodie book, too! 7y
BookThingo @jenniferhallock Ooh, thank you! She's on my list of authors to try! 7y

Pickpick

This collection of stories is a delight, with combinations of traditional Aboriginal and misery telling. Water was my favourite section with some interesting ideas and social commentary. This was also unique for me as a lot of the stories were set in my local area. It's quite weird but wonderful to see my local stomping grounds in fiction. #diversereading #aww2017

Some of my favourite Australian authors. Toni Jordan, Dominic Knight and Krissy Kneen are hiding at the back! #aww2017 #shelfie

Chachic What about Kirsty Eagar?💖 7y
BookThingo @Chachic Good point! Eagar and Thorne are on loan to other people atm. 😊 7y
Chachic Have you tried Cath Crowley and Fiona Wood? Their books are also lovely. 7y
BookThingo @Chachic I almost bough Crowley's blue book, but the ending didn't make me happy, so I put it back. 😂 Haven't tried Fiona Wood, yet. 7y

It's that time of year when I deeply regret not planting anything during spring. But let's be honest. Every single plant I've tried to grow has ended up dead. (Except for a large succulent Mum gave me as a housewarming present, and only because she took it back.) I've even killed a bamboo plant THAT DID NOT REQUIRE SOIL. But I remain ever hopeful, and these books will not be culled today. #nonfiction #gardening #aww2017
