I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!) Feel free to join in!

Bedtime reading. Good-night! (PS: This book belonged to my mother. I love seeing her handwriting on the bookplate.)
I wasn‘t sure how I was going to review this unique book. But when the final sentence is “Then he went to the icebox for the bacon, which will always be with us.” I had to give it a pick. It‘s a quick-ish read, and holds the interest. The form is unique, and you have to pay attention to keep the timeline straight, but it rewards that attention. #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
#changes #BloomingBibliophiles John Starling shunned the Montana ranch his dad wanted him to work on & take over one day. John, went East , became an artist, but thing just aren‘t working out.McGuane writes complex characters, often people who burn all their bridges but end up having to try to repair them.McGuane was pretty popular in the 1980s , I always appreciated his strong, conflicted characters, often people who know better but do it anyway.
This book was completely ridiculous and a fun read between some more serious ones. The characters are an eclectic group that all work for a tabloid magazine company and share story ideas constantly. I‘m not sure why it‘s on the #1001books list, but I enjoyed it as very different from many of the books I‘ve read.
I‘m taking a break between some school work and some garden work to start this book in the hammock. Based on the reviews I‘ve seen, this sounds like it might be a lighter read and a good change of pace right now.

Found this on openlibrary.org, not thrilled about reading “online.” Here goes nothing! #Reading1001 #1001books
