Last batch of Adam Rex on hand. Turns out there's a lot more written by than illustrated by available, at least at my local library. Varying levels of whimsical and ridiculous, with gentle lessons.

Say something would be a fabulous choice for a RA in the classroom! This RF book teaches students to use their voice & speak up on topics they‘re passionate about! This book also teaches our students “speaking up” doesn‘t always require your voice, there are many ways we can make a difference through our actions. 🙌🏼 I would teach this book using the UDL principle 3.1(activate or supply background knowledge)
Finished up my first April read!
This was a really interesting read - if you‘re into sociology like me you‘ll like this one. It involves poignant studies on how the concept of “masculinity” can be harmful to men
Checking this off my #bookspinbingo board
Originally published in 1986, some areas are outdated but a great deal more are still frighteningly relevant. It shows just how far we haven‘t come when it relates to rape cases. The myth of common false allegations, victim blaming, violence leading to the modern scourge of ‘rough sex‘ defence - we are still mired in it all. 4🌟
Fantastic for read-aloud: big text, bold illustrations, diverse characters. 'Saying something' can take many forms, not just verbal. Not a narrative story, but lots of ideas for personal expression and kindness. I'm fascinated by the backgrounds in the illustrations. They could inspire an collage project of hand-painted patterns layered eith photos. Can't wait to read Reynold's "Word Collector" #dw2020reads

Just in time as I completed this #middleGrade story... Book lovers and strong sense of community made this an enjoyable read
Mini #libraryhaul for #MiddleGradeMarch
Both these books are also my #BlameItonLitsy choices 😊😊
Ali Benjamin's 'The Thing about jellyfish' is at the bottom of pile (unseen) and I have already borrowed 'Extraordinary Birds' by Sandy Stark-McGinnis.
Let's try finish these (along with all the other reads! 😅) before I pick more from my list of #MGLit
Set in India, this book teaches about leadership, speaking up, and a touch on how a political system works. I learned about the ghatam drum shown above and listened to the ghatam played on YouTube while I read.
#MiddleGradeMarch
#GirlwithGoals. I already like this character!
