Mattie takes a job at an upscale, yet #RemoteInn in the Adirondacks. The body of another young woman is pulled from the lake & Mattie is faced with keeping or sharing her secrets. In flashbacks we learn about both women. Especially touching is Mattie's relationship with a childhood friend, an African-American boy, with whom she shares a love of learning new words.
