EadieB @Andrew65 I agree! I think I like book 1 and 2 better. This one is somewhat different because it has more subplots. @Tove_Reads 5y

Andrew65 @EadieB So far this one is less gritty. It feels strange compared to the others. @julesG Most definitely so far feels more about Flea. @Tove_Reads 5y

Tove_Reads I thought it wasn‘t as good as the others because I read it in Swedish. Somehow crime translated in to the Swedish can be blah. But, yeah, feels like another author took over. @EadieB 5y

EadieB @Andrew65 I like it better when the author does 1 major plot or investigation instead of all these subplots. This book is boring in parts! @Tove_Reads 5y

Andrew65 @EadieB Audio is always better for that! With a book like this you keep thinking do I rest from it and start a new book, or try to plough on so I get finished quicker. (edited) 5y

Andrew65 @EadieB I just find them to have not much of a flow, wanting me to keep reading on. I felt this with the last one too, and a bit fed up with all the Ewan story. It seems to dominate the books more than the murders / abductions etc. @Tove_Reads 5y

EadieB @Andrew65 I like the Jane Casey and Adrian McKinty books better. Maybe we should put this series on hold after this one. @Tove_Reads 5y

EadieB @Andrew65 Just read the description for the next book entitled Skin and it says: Devious and disturbing, it introduces one of Hayder's most horrifying villains yet. Sounds gritty and nasty to me. But, we can see what Tove_Reads thinks.

Tove_Reads @Andrew65 @EadieB Just Finished. It was a bit weird. Should we read the next one and make a decision after that one? It‘s quite common that one book in the series doesn‘t live up to the others. Remember Heartstone? 5y

Andrew65 @Tove_Reads That was quick!!! Last night you were only on Chapter 21. I‘m on Chapter 38 (65%) and aiming to finish this afternoon. I imagine I‘ll finish the series, either individually or with both of you, even if don‘t improve. Hate to give up on a series in the middle. @EadieB (edited) 5y

Tove_Reads Wow, I was beat once I got back home. I guess I missed my own bed 🙂 Otherwise it looks good to me, but you will probably have to read The Last Girl without me. I‘ve asked the library to get both a physical and an ebook. They add English ebooks around the 15th. It just sometimes takes longer than expected because I guess they have to deal with getting the rights first. 5y

Starting my third book in the #24B4Monday #Readathon. So far finished off Dead Men by Stephen Leather and listened to some of my audiobook, Redemption by David Baldacci. Now starting The Treatment by Mo Hayder to catch up on the #MoHayderBuddyRead
So far at 1 hr 36 minutes on the Readathon.

Tove_Reads Ritual is on its way with copper beech, and I have Dangerous Fortune at home. I should get the 4th McKinty towards the end of May. Only problem is The Last Girl. @EadieB 5y

Andrew65 @EadieB No but I have asked 2 libraries to buy it! 😂 Hopefully one of them will come through in time! One of these libraries had book 1 and 3 as ebooks do it makes sense to buy book 3! @Tove_Reads 5y

Andrew65 @Tove_Reads My libraries don‘t always buy on the recommendations, hence asking two! Still got some recommendation requests they haven‘t bought 2 - 3 years on. Seems to be no method about which books they buy and those they just ignore. Even more frustrating when thy buy whole series of unknown authors. @EadieB 5y
