We might have just enough bread, bread rolls and greens for the weekend. Just! 😂😂😂😂 (and cat food)

I read a bit of the tagged book while queueing. It's really good.

I have read so many great books so far this year so it was hard to narrow it down to six but here they are #top6reads. @Cinfhen

Cinfhen I still haven‘t listened /read Becoming yet. I‘m scared it won‘t live up to the hype 😬same with 3w
SaturnDoo @Cinfhen for me, Becoming didn't live up to the hype. I haven't read Crawdads yet for the same reason. 3w
Cinfhen Interesting @SaturnDoo and I think we have similar reading preferences. How are your guys feeling??!? 3w

SaturnDoo @Cinfhen Yes we do have similar reading preferences. They are feeling much better thanks for asking 🤗 the littler one more so than the bigger one. Josh Sr needs another couple days on the medicine and he should be as right as rain 😁 3w
Cinfhen Glad to hear they‘re feeling better @SaturnDoo 3w
Megabooks Where the Crawdads Sing is so good! 3w
Kdgordon88 @Saturndoo @Cinfhen I enjoyed Becoming because it read to me like Michelle and I were sitting across the table having a chat. The writing and imagery in Crawdads pulls you in and keeps you there IMHO. 🙂 3w

Pickpick

A quick read. I literally don‘t know that I‘ve ever heard of this tragedy before reading this historical fiction novel. It was really interesting and so heartbreaking! It has now sparked my interest and I will be looking for more books about this!

I knew nothing about what the Lativians faced...so much focus is often on other ravaged parts of Europe...I'm glad this piece of history was remembered...it brought some of the forgotten people to life...horrors of war with morsals of hope...family...love...and survivors.

So heartbreaking! A story of working in prison camps and the strong bonds of the prisoners through the eyes of a young teenage girl named Lina. I really don‘t think I could have endured what they all had to endure.

Lovesbooks87 Yes! When I read this I had no idea that this awful part of history even happened! 1mo

Above Us Only Sky: A Novel | Michele Young-Stone

Pickpick

Fascinating magical realism book about a girl born in 1973 and her connection to 100 years past. You see, “Prudence Eleanor Vilkas was born with heart-shaped wings pressed accordion-style against her back. Above Us Only Sky spans the 1863 uprising against Russian Tsarist rule in Eastern Europe to the fall of the Berlin Wall and Lithuania‘s independence in 1991.” Very interesting so I knew so little of this historical period.
