We might have just enough bread, bread rolls and greens for the weekend. Just! 😂😂😂😂 (and cat food)
I read a bit of the tagged book while queueing. It's really good.
I knew nothing about what the Lativians faced...so much focus is often on other ravaged parts of Europe...I'm glad this piece of history was remembered...it brought some of the forgotten people to life...horrors of war with morsals of hope...family...love...and survivors.

...though probably this was no comfort to the Lithuanians that were forced by Stalin‘s troops into Siberia in WW2...

So heartbreaking! A story of working in prison camps and the strong bonds of the prisoners through the eyes of a young teenage girl named Lina. I really don‘t think I could have endured what they all had to endure.
Fascinating magical realism book about a girl born in 1973 and her connection to 100 years past. You see, “Prudence Eleanor Vilkas was born with heart-shaped wings pressed accordion-style against her back. Above Us Only Sky spans the 1863 uprising against Russian Tsarist rule in Eastern Europe to the fall of the Berlin Wall and Lithuania‘s independence in 1991.” Very interesting so I knew so little of this historical period.
