Fortunately, the Milk | Neil Gaiman

Starting Monday on a wildly imaginative note ✔️
Finishing my April #bookspin book ✔️

A fun story with great illustrations. I loved the kids‘ interjections and how the story adjusts to incorporate them. Great!

Also works for #bbrc #middlegrademadeeasy #lessthan120pages

TheAromaofBooks This one has been on my list for a while!! 4y
LibrarianRyan Yeahhh 4y
mabell @TheAromaofBooks Same! Glad I finally got it! One #bookspin month down - just 3 to catch up on! 😄 4y

mabell @LibrarianRyan My first Gaiman! I haven‘t read Coraline - the movie upset me, but this one looked goofy 🤪 4y
JaclynW I love this one!! 4y
mabell @JaclynW I really enjoyed it! I had no idea what to expect, so it was a fun ride! 4y
JaclynW @mabell The audio is really fun to have along with the book (and illustrations). You'll have to try again with that.😊 4y

Another finished during #StayHome24in48 . I really did not capture the magic of this until the end, and then I understood how this is a classic. Hope and sacrifice play roles in this story of a pilot and a special prince who appears one day in the desert.

My selection for #LessThan120Pages for #MiddleGrade #BBRC

LiteraryinLawrence I so love this book. Thanks for reminding me that it‘s time for a reread! 4y

A compelling story surrounding an odd tragedy in Boston. In 1919, a vat containing 2 million gallons of molasses exploded killing 21 people and injuring 150. The fictional story tells of Carmen, an Italian immigrant, and her father, who succumbs to the Spanish Influenza. A great read for #BBRC #middlegrade #LessThan120Pages
@LibrarianRyan

tpixie Never heard of the molasses tragedy. Book sounds good! 4y
IamIamIam @tpixie It's really interesting! 4y

tpixie @IamIamIam i‘m going to have to read up on it! Nobody talked about it on any of my Boston tours! 4y
IamIamIam @tpixie That's crazy! I'd think this would be a huge talking point! 4y
tpixie @IamIamIam right???!! 4y
riversong153 My kid loves this series! 4y
IamIamIam @riversong153 This is my first read but I know it's always a big hit at the book fairs! What's your child's favorite book in the series? 4y
riversong153 @IamIamIam the one about the Titanic. 4y
IamIamIam @riversong153 Excellent choice!!! That was summer reading for my son before 4rd grade and he actually enjoyed it! The Titanic is my preferred disaster... that's weird, right? 😬 4y
riversong153 @IamIamIam Not weird at all. Your talking to someone who loves true crime, so I completely get it! 4y

Read this at breakfast - I always thought that I‘d read this before, but nope! For #teamslaughter I‘ll say 20pts as one story specifically relates to Halloween. #scaryscavengerhunt: scares me as my two favorites were pretty creepy (Cold as Clay and The Guests) #scarathlon #bbrc #middlegrade #lessthan120pages

Linsy Been on my TBR since my nephew recommended it! 5y
LibrarianRyan Yeahhh 5y
Sarahreadstoomuch @Linsy make sure you get the one that Stephen Gammell illustrated. He did a phenomenal job. 5y
Linsy @Sarahreadstoomuch Duly noted! 5y

Found a new book app “Dreame” and was give this short book to read so I‘m adding this to my #BBRC as a #MGME #lessthan120pages 😋 so I am going to explore more on the app but it‘s another book app to look into 📖😋 @LibrarianRyan

Two Mongolian brothers start at Julie‘s primary school in Bootle, and appoint her their ‘good guide‘ to help them blend in. Julie‘s understanding of the world expands massively, but neither she nor her mother understand what the boys‘ family are so scared of. Funny, sweet and sad, without ever being preachy.

Great on audio, but I missed out on the polaroid photos, which are quite central to the story.

rockpools Hi @BookwormAHN - I think we‘ve been partnered for this challenge 😊. How‘s it going? I‘m still in the very early stages - a few picture books and this is my first middle grade. It‘ll definitely be a year-long one for me! 5y
LibrarianRyan 😁👍🏻❤️. I will say that cover is kind of freaky. 5y
BookwormAHN This will definitely be year long for me. I've also done a few picture books and I'm reading a middle grade now for #Booked2019 that I plan to work into this challenge as well. 5y
BookwormAHN I'll tag you when I finish it. It's 5y
