Spotted that I had missed the final book in this series that I used to love and downloaded for my hols. Whilst Carson was as smart as ever this is missing a number of the things that made me enjoy the original books so much. Here 2 nursery catapult Ryder from Florida and away from restarting his partnership and across the country where lots of things happen to people it was hard to care about. I give it a so so maybe out of nostalgia #serieslove

A darkly funny crime story set in Glasgow. Trigger warning for violence. DI Alison McOist (Ally McOist in Glasgow is a constant joke) is suspected by colleagues of being dodgy but is pulled into various crimes in which a local car wash seems central. When a local gangster who Ally wants to nail is interested in the car wash, the plot thickens. Really great characters + a dark plot meant this was a cracking read altho very dark and violent.

This is the second book I‘ve read in this engaging mystery series. I really like George, he‘s such an endearing character even if he does come across as a little abrupt. He just takes some understanding, that‘s all. A very enjoyable read, it had me avidly turning the pages. I loved that it was set in the literary world. If you enjoy entertaining and intriguing whodunnits, this one‘s for you. #Pigeonhole

I read this after Dirty little secrets and had no high expectations. Just wanted a clever thriller to occupy me on a flight however I was disappointed with this one. Unlike Dirty little secrets I didn‘t find any of the characters believable and the plot was very clumsy. Not sure if I‘ll read anymore of her books.

#Pigeonhole. Sadly one of the last books I shall be reading via the Pigeonhole app. It‘s closing down at the end of this month as it‘s no longer viable. I‘ve so enjoyed interacting with other readers/pigeons and it‘s such a shame that it can‘t continue.

Good creepy thriller, very unsettling ending.

Mole Creek is the town where I grew up

This should have been a fast and easy read. But then the Olympics happened, I worked for 7 days straight and I fell into a hole named fan-fiction. So this took me way longer than it should have. Felt like the storyline was a bit blunt. Soft pick.

You can't go wrong with a Jo Spain novel. However I have discovered a book ick. I don't like reading 'Look Luke' or any combination of those words 🫤 it seemed to be used a lot.

Next kindle read . . . Getting round to this one after I thought I'd started it but had actually started something else!
