I stand in the dark, barefoot and cold on the edge of the sharp rocks, staring out over the long stretch of black water in front of me. And I wonder if I really can make it all the way to that small light on the dock in the distance.

Wylie may have escaped the camp in Maine, but she is far from safe. The best way for her to protect herself is to understand her ability, fast. But after spending a lifetime trying to ignore her own feelings, giving in to her ability to read other peoples‘ emotions is as difficult as it is dangerous.

Where They Found Her | Kimberly McCreight

Pickpick

In Ridgedale, New Jersey, the body of a newborn is found in the woods near the campus of the town's prestigious university. No one knows the identity of the baby or what ended her short life. Freelance journalist Molly Anderson is called upon to cover the disturbing news for the Ridgedale Reader, the town's local paper. A severe depression followed the loss of her own baby.

EadieB This assignment could unearth memories she has tried so hard to bury. Her investigation unravels a decades-old trail of dark secrets hiding behind Ridgedale's white picket fences. Told from the perspectives of three Ridgedale women, Kimberly McCreight's book shows us that the past eventually catches up to all of us. I found the characters to be well-developed and the plot was very interesting. 2y
EadieB All the twists culminate into a surprise ending. I have also read McCreight's "Reconstructing Amelia" and enjoyed that book too. If you like psychological suspense then you will enjoy this book. 2y
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 2y
