“Kindness Is a Choice“ is a beautifully written poem/letter from a mother to her children urging them to be kind. This poem has hints of rhyming within it and carries a slow, soothing rhythm. When I read this poem, I feel a sense of comfort and hope with how the mother conveys her message of kindness to her children. It inspires me to not only follow this message of kindness, but urge others to do the same.

4 ⭐This is an interesting book. The story is a simple one that‘s a call to action. It states that we need justice. Sometimes justice is denied but one voice or many voices can bring justice where it‘s needed. What really sets this book apart are the illustrations. Each page is a different person or a event in our nations fight for various forms of justice. Some of the people mentioned are big names most people know, and some

LibrarianRyan are smaller names, or names lost in history. This book was very well done and very interesting. It could be in a library for many years to come. 7mo

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

A book based on the true story of an Argentine girl who was "disappered" and lived to tell about her experience.

I could not put this book down and had nightmares after Putin and Russia after reading this book before bed! My heart breaks for Sergei‘s family. Though I feel that Browder whitewashed his own success a bit, I admire his doggedness, empathy, and bravery. He may not be the most eloquent writer, but this is a story that needed to be told. I can‘t wait to read the next one!

My Belarusian friend told me years ago I should read this 2015 book. Bill Browder lived in Moscow after the fall of communism running a fund for Western investors. He was shocked by the criminal actions of some of the oligarchs and began exposing them through research and the media. He became a target and his lawyer Sergei Magnitsky paid the ultimate price.

Centique This is a compulsive read and illuminates corruption on a scale I couldn‘t believe - even after the more recent news articles I‘ve read. 5 stars for blowing my mind and making me cry. 13mo
LeahBergen I read this with my book club. It‘s quite something, isn‘t it?? 13mo
