Mehso-so

When her presumed-dead husband returns, Emma must choose between him and her new fiancé. As Emma decides with which man to spend her future, I did like all three characters, and given the unusual circumstances, I do understand the choices she makes. Still, there‘s something about this story‘s overall commentary on love that isn‘t sitting well with me—I‘m still pondering it.

sprainedbrain That‘s about how I felt about this book! 🤷🏻‍♀️ 6y
AmandaL This was one of books on my book-a-day calendar this week. I was thinking of borrowing it, but if you and @sprainedbrain both felt the same, I'm going to skip it. 6y
sprainedbrain @AmandaL I believe I have your same calendar! 6y

Pickpick

We know that Anastasia Romanov is #HeartbreakingDead or do we? Anna Anderson claims she is the tzarena who survived the massacre that took the lives of her family during the Russian revolution. Ariel Lawhon masterfully weaves their stories. With alternating chapters, Anastasia's moves forward in time while Anna's is told in reverse until they culminate on that fateful night. #WomensHistoryReads

Lynnsoprano Love your photo. I‘m a sucker for all versions of the Anastasia story, so this goes on TBR. 6y
TNbookworm Great pic! Can't wait to read this book☺ 6y
lynneamch @Lynnsoprano It will be interesting for you to compare this with others. I thought weaving in the Anna Anderson story was really cleaver. 6y
