Daughter of the Pirate King | Tricia Levenseller

I'm not sure if this book is actually set during the #GoldenAgeOfPiracy... But I've seen the main character described as a "Lady Jack Sparrow," and that seems like a good way to start #PiratesLife. #WhatAWayToLive

#PiratesLife I haven't read Pirate Freedom by one of my all-time favorite authors, but I'm certainly going to! I know it's a time travel tale, but I wasn't sure exactly when the main character travels to. Turns out it was the #GoldenAgeofPiracy #WhataWaytoLive

The Tempest | William Shakespeare

So for #whatawaytolive #goldenageofpiracy the perfect book would seem to be Treasure Island. But shamefully, I haven't read it. Still I did a uni paper on 18th century novels - surely one of those was written pre 1750 and would fall into the Golden Age? Nope. And sorry Fanny Burney and Anne Radcliffe, you didn't feel at all piratical.
So a bit early for the golden age but Shakespeare wins for my earliest beloved tale with a shipwreck at least!
