pickSomehow, I didn't pick up that the ghosts in Cymbeline were Posthumus's parents and brothers. Maybe it was because I was reading so fast to catch up, but I could really dig into this play even more with this retelling in prose. I'll definitely be reading more from #davidbruce in the future. This is still one of my favourite parts of this play.

Iachimo is even more of a jerk in this version than the original (or at least it's more clear how much a jerk he is).
The Queen I almost expect to cackle when she speaks.

Since there is still time in the Cymbeline read-a-long, I thought I'd take this for a spin. I've never read this author before, but if the way he wrote his bio is any indication, it's going to be good!!! pickI love Shakespeare, so I'm definitely biased, but I loved this. It's not really a tragedy at all. In a rare turn for Shakespeare, there is a happy ending. I'm also biased because I love British history, so I love any play where Shakespeare took on the history of the British Isles.
