pickI gotta hand it to Angie Thomas ~ she knows how to make a 53 year old feel like a teenager again. Yes, parts of this book are annoyingly YA but listening to Bohni Turpin rap, whine and lament about race, family, expectations and HS was infectious. Absolutely enjoyed all 12 hours and I‘m now ready to listen to another YA book.

Chelleo Unpopular opinion. I love Bahni Turpin but I‘m starting to feel like she‘s over-saturating the audiobook market. She‘s narrated so many things that I can‘t get past her voice to hear the story. And because of that, stories are starting to morph together. This was the first time I actually felt a bit disappointed at hearing her at the start of a book. 4y
Cinfhen Hi @Chelleo 👋🏽The more audiobooks I listen to the easier it‘s becoming to recognize certain voices and I understand what you‘re saying. Especially when women use their male voice. However, I still love the tone and sound of Bahni‘s voice and I can listen to her all day. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the book!! 4y
