Oof, I found this provocative, humbling, reassuring, and very timely: I am well and truly in the midlife chrysalis!
It's very Jungian, which is fine but it does mean that his one strategy is to get a good therapist.
Hmm... I'm going to be doing a lot of journalling and thinking-walks. 😊
Feeling utterly frazzled earlier by the unending, inescapable human noise of the day. What a relief to have a thoughtful book to immerse myself in!

This was okay. I listened on #audio and likely wouldn‘t have stayed with it otherwise. No real new info, the parts the Dr. contributed were worthwhile and encouraging, the main author was a bit annoying and, honestly, sexist. This one hasn‘t aged well but the basic premise, keep moving, don‘t eat crap, and stay engaged with your community, is valid. I finished it at my gym that just opened! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
90 yo Thomas Mirren loved his quiet daily routine, but one day he happens to interrupt some shoplifters and they vow to seek revenge. The local newspaper reports that even though Mirren is well known and marches in the Veterans Parade each year, he never served. Suddenly Thomas‘s life is no longer quiet…

I really enjoyed this one! Completely different from ‘The Natural Way of Things‘ which is the only other book I‘ve read by this author. Three women who have been friends for decades, meet at Christmas, ‘not for a holiday‘ but to clean out a beach house of recently deceased friend. Brilliantly written and brutally honest. A look into growing older and how lifelong friendships develop, warts and all! Well worth reading!
Just wonderful. Joy. Nature. Having now completed my library's collection of her backlist, I look forward to reading every book Lauren Soloy writes/illustrates in the future. 🥰
