My mom always told me about a Bates Motel series from 1987. It had supernatural elements and was all so good!

A few weeks ago my mom found this complete series of the Bates Motel. We were so excited to find this, and I was thrilled to finally be able to watch this supernatural series I grew up hearing about.

AnnCrystal We were extra excited that they obviously continued the series because the collection contained five whole seasons.

When I questioned about how “new“ it looked, we wrote it off as being remastered...until after about thirty minutes into the first episode...

A quick web search explained what exactly it was that we were watching 😂. A&E made a new Bates Motel, and it was a modernized backstory for the original movie. No ghost, just...a thriller.👇 3mo

Thankfully I was able to mail order the 1980s version to surprise my mom for her birthday 🥳🎁💝.

AnnCrystal The 1980s version was incredible, just as it had been described to me. Laced with the supernatural instead of murder. Too bad it didn't make it. Perhaps if the story had been a bit more to-the-point at the beginning it would have captured more of an audience.

AnnCrystal Well, we're still watching the new Bates Motel...while not our type of story, the drama caught us and it has become like an addictive soap opera...one we have to fast forward a lot, but good nonetheless. Although, it would have been better with ghost!

JenlovesJT47 That‘s so awesome! I love the Psycho franchise. Bates Motel is great. And the Psycho sequels are actually pretty decent for sequels, especially the second one. I‘ll have to track this down! 🤗💛🐝 2mo
