Excellent 5 star read. Murder/mystery/coming of age story. 15 year old Travis lost his mother when he was an infant leaving him with an abusive father to raise him. The town rumor mill gets Travis wondering if there was more to her tragic death than he thinks. Told from the viewpoint of his best friend looking back on that time in the late 60's early 70's. Great dialog and full of heart. Mystery easy to figure out but there is a twist.

A quick mystery/ suspense read. A little improbable in the end, but satisfying nonetheless.

I loved this book. I was hooked from beginning to end! I loved the dynamic between the two boys, and the storyline between them kept me totally on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put this one down. Although I was hopeful for some happier events near the end, the ending was very well done and written perfectly.

I'm about 100 pages in to an advance copy, and this is excellent. An intriguing literary mystery set in an Ohio steel town in the 70s. Comes out in April - Mark your calendars!
