In this dazzling debut novel, a pregnant teen learns the meaning of friendship—from the boy who pretends to be her baby’s father. When the entire high school finds out that Hannah Shepard is pregnant via her ex-best friend, she has a full-on meltdown in her backyard. The one witness (besides the rest of the world): Aaron Tyler, a transfer student and the only boy who doesn’t seem to want to get into Hannah’s pants. Confused and scared, Hannah needs someone to be on her side. Wishing to make up for his own past mistakes, Aaron does the unthinkable and offers to pretend to be the father of Hannah’s unborn baby. Even more unbelievable, Hannah hears herself saying “yes.”Told in alternating perspectives between Hannah and Aaron, Trouble is the story of two teenagers helping each other to move forward in the wake of tragedy and devastating choices. In a year marked by loss, regret, and hope, the two will discover a simple truth: Nothing compares to finding your first, true best friend.

Hannah‘s been fooling around with the lads, & now she‘s pregnant. Who is the dad?

Aaron is the new boy in school. What secrets from his past is he running from?

Hannah‘s BFF drops her & teens try to guess the dad. Then Aaron steps up as the dad, except the pair know he isn‘t. They never had sex.

The way this story is told, their secrets unravel at the perfect moment to build up the anticipation and make it a page turner. I loved this book.

This book was my crutch today and I flew through it. The ending is adorable even if there are a few loose ends 💯 Deals with teen pregnancy and grief. Two POVs handled in a way that thankfully doesn't drive you crazy.

Unable to find this in the Litsy database (what gives, Litsy? It pubbed in the UK on Monday) so am tagging the author's debut instead. 4 teens open a time capsule they buried 5 years before...after their friend, the fifth time-capsule-burier, has died. Non is such a talent: tons of emotion in her books, but they're never sappy, and her characters never feel idealised. Reading this tonight.

tkmadden hi there! if you scroll to the bottom of the book search page, you should see a link to suggest a book to our Litsy librarians. Thanks so much! 8y
