I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.
Day 142

P.S. I hope I haven't offended anyone with this cover. I think its gorgeous, but others might disagree. Boris Vallejo is a master of drawing the human form.

Graywacke It‘s a terrific cover. And of the era. What‘s the publication date? 4y
RamsFan1963 @Graywacke This is the Science Fiction Book Club edition published in 2001. I've seen the covers for the individual books, published between 1965-1977, and they vary though most have men at least shirtless, a few with women also near naked. Those were usually by Vallejo too. 4y
Graywacke @RamsFan1963 i had imagined the late 60‘s, early 70‘s. I‘m surprised to see 2001. 4y
LibrarianRyan I should have guessed it was Vallejo. I thought it looked familiar. 4y

This makes as much sense as the covid lockdown tiers - I'm living in a Tier 3 region with different rules than those imposed on my parents, who live in a another Tier 3 region 7 miles away 🤷🏻‍♂️

GingerAntics Why would there be different rules for tier 3? That‘s madness. 4y
TrishB Liverpool v Lancashire I guess. Bloody nonsense. 4y

Bookwomble @GingerAntics Because we are governed by entitled buffoons who disdain to consult with experts, and who have no idea of the effect of their decisions upon the lives of people they have no desire to understand or empathise with. 4y
Bookwomble @TrishB Yes, I'm in Lancs and my parents in Sefton. My kids both live in Manchester, so that's still Tier 2 due to Andy Burnham's stand, but if Tier 3 is imposed by the Tories, they will have a third set of different "standard" rules. The incompetence would be shocking if it wasn't expected. 4y
veritysalter I‘m a Tier 2 and I shall be hoarding all the books, it could possibly be described as “stockpiling”. Wishing all the best to those under Tier 3, I thought this was supposed to be a simpler system! 4y
GingerAntics I think you‘ve summed up the entire problem in America. I thought you were in the U.K. for some reason, though. 4y
Bookwomble @GingerAntics I do live in the UK. Sadly, the Buffoon-for-National-Leader syndrome is not an exclusively USA phenomenon 😂 4y
GingerAntics Sadly, I‘ve noticed. I sure hope it‘s not catching. Hopefully our buffoon will be on the way out shortly...if we can keep Russia abs Ukraine out of our bloody election. 🤞🏻 4y
Bookwomble @GingerAntics Fingers firmly crossed 🤞🏻 Transatlantic solidarity ✊🏻😊 4y
Bookwomble @veritysalter It was touted as a simpler system, wasn't it? 🤔 Anyway, building a barricade of books seems like a plan 📚📚😀📚📚 4y
