Rosa Parks: My Story
Rosa Parks: My Story | Rosa Parks
9 posts | 3 read | 1 reading | 7 to read
Rosa Parks is best known for the day she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus, sparking the Montgomery, Alabama, bus boycott. Yet there is much more to her story than this one act of defiance. In this straightforward, compelling autobiography, Rosa Parks talks candidly about the civil rights movement and her active role in it. Her dedication is inspiring; her story is unforgettable. "The simplicity and candor of this courageous woman's voice makes these compelling events even more moving and dramatic." — "Publishers Weekly," starred review

Following her refusal to give up her seat in the “coloureds section” of a segregated bus to a white man, Parks became a key figure in the #CivilRightsMovement. It was interesting to read in Susan Cain‘s book, Quiet, that Parks had the characteristics of introversion, demonstrating that introversion is not a weakness.

Although I‘ve skimmed through the Little People, Big Dreams book on Rosa Parks in a bookstore, I‘ll like to read the tagged book, her autobiography.

Happy 106th Birthday to the little lady that was brave enough to say No. She paved the way for doors to be open for me. Thank you Mrs. Parks. #RosaParks #Birthdays #BlackHistoryMonth
