At the beginning of the 2000s, when this book came out, l was working in Dublin (l got this edition from my favourite bookstore there), and Ruckley was one of the most interesting new fantasy authors of the time.
And now... he's disappeared. I have never heard of him again.

Anybody knows whether he's still writing?

What attracted me at first about Ruckley's characters is that all of them sound like #DangerousType Not very heroic, not very noble, in short very different from the classic fantasy heroes.
