pick👏👏👏 to Lamar Giles who wrote a pitch-perfect Bad Batch standalone that slots into the last season of the show in the few days before…that terrible event broke all of our hearts in ep 16. There is no Echo or Crosshairs in this novel, but plenty of our other characters, including lots of heartwarming (and agonizing!) Tech/Phee interactions. The new minor characters and villains are also well-rounded. Loved it.
Last night, I got to leave my mark on the new Fountain Bookstore in Richmond–literally! Was so much fun getting to chat with Lamar Giles in the first event at the bookstore‘s new location. Fountain has meant so much to my writing life (and reading life!).

pickLamar Giles has delivered a book perfect for fans of “The Bad Batch.” He nails all of the characters while introducing some of his own along the way. This page turner adds depth to a lot of the show‘s cast. I enjoyed how Wrecker isn‘t reduced to his usual comic relief persona. Likewise, I loved seeing some wonderfully intimate moments between Tech and Phee. At its heart, SANCTUARY is a book about family. #starwars
