My fav quote from the intro: “A common response from other men when my father told them what he was working on was an assumption that he was writing some sort of defense of misogyny, a reaction he found startling.
Another common response was surprise that such a book should be written by a man... ‘Why not?‘ he would say, ‘it was invented by men.‘”
pickCompletely forgot to review this book that I finished yesterday. I mostly listened to it while out walking Walter, meaning I missed stuff here and there when other people or dogs showed up, but it was still a very interesting and somewhat depressing book. Highly recommended!
pickThis was one of the hardest, most important books I've read in a long time. It made me mad, sad, and numb. More than anything it made me truly understand what constitutes misogyny, which means I can question and rebel, because fundamentally it's BS.

Not too far into this yet, but am gaining valuable insights to current events. Author just helped me connect Pandora and Helen of Troy to women in politics and power. Fascinating!
