Splurged on myself and bought the hardcover edition of this, signed by the author. It's absolutely gorgeous 😍 I think I'll add it to my readathon this weekend.
Has anyone read it?

I actually picked this up because the main characters name is Brynn…. It‘s considered a romantasy but it reminds me more of historical with fantasy and romance elements- and I liked the world building and magic system. I am looking forward to reading the next book too.

Reading this book made me happy. The story of Cenric and Brynn, as they enter an arranged marriage and learn to live with each other. I liked that they genuinely seemed to like each other and developed a nice healthy marriage. Of course this is a fantasy and there are sorcerers involved. So magic and battles are part of the story. I am excited for the next book in the series.

This was so good, my first true 5/5 stars of 2025. I especially love how clearly the fictional communities derive from the real Vikings and Anglo-Saxons, and how the ending plays out.

Adding another book to my already packed February TBR because I got a free copy of the first book in Wheatley‘s new series. She printed a set of paperbacks with an error in the blurb (it mentions wolves and she removed the wolves from the final version of the book) and she offered them to her fan group subscribers. Yay for free books!
