I don't normally gravitate towards sports romance but this was cute. Jamie & Pippa are each guarded. Jamie only wants to focus on hockey & helping his mom who has panic attacks. Pippa has been hurt by her ex, who made fun of her music & kicked her off his tour. This was forced proximity, slow burn, working through trauma, spicy 🌶️🌶️. The story felt a little long but I'll pick up the next book in the series

It was funny, sweet, sometimes incredibly cheesy but I loved it. And the spice was awesome! I loved that at the end of the book was not any unnecessary drama but the love couple became closer. Sometimes I wished for more details on the professions of both main characters, especially as it is referenced as a hockey romance. From my opinion the FMC's professional career and personal growth was much more in focus which I don't mind at all.

When Pippa, fresh off a breakup, gets an assistant job to a famous athlete, the last person she expects to be assigned to is the enigmatically grumpy NHL goalie god, Jamie Streicher. She doesn't think he remembers her from HS, but not only does he remember, she had been his secret crush back then. The way he supports her in pursuing her music dreams? UGH. And the absolute, knock your panties off STEAM?! 🤭
