I really need to be more intentional about including MG books in my regular reading. Because I love them but no longer actively keep up now that my son is older.
All that to say I loved this book also! What a unique story that is both educational and heartbreaking. It might be too much for sensitive kids, but for others it‘s an excellent read with enough action to keep them interested while still learning about the culture.
Karisimo Yes, the opening scene with his fingers is hard to read😬, but I think that‘s the worst of it? 3mo
MeganAnn @Karisimo yes, that‘s definitely the worst of it, but even the descriptions of his body taken over by illness were a little hard to read. Maybe just because I‘m a mom so reading about kids in hard situations like this always has me in tears. And I was definitely crying at the ending too. 3mo
