In this first installment of NY Times bestselling author, Wendy Higgins's debut New Adult series, a frighteningly realistic apocalyptic America is brought to life, entwined with searing romantic tension that will leave you eager for more. *** Amber Tate believes the worst thing she'll suffer in life is dealing with the unrequited love she feels for her brother's best friend, Rylen Fite. She also believes war is something unfortunate that happens places far, far away from her rural Nevada town. She's wrong on both counts. When an unknown organization meticulously bombs major cities in the United States and across the globe, a trickle-down effect spreads to remaining towns at an alarming speed-everything from food and water sources to technology and communications are compromised. Without leadership, the nation is split between paralysis and panic, but Amber isn't one to hide or watch helplessly. She's determined to put her nursing skills to use, despite the danger, even if it means working alongside the man she can never have.

I had never heard of this book but was looking for an ebook to read during lunch at work and this popped up. It's the 1st in a trilogy about a family in rural Nevada and an unknown organization wrecking havoc and war on the world. It was really good, hard to put down. May not be for everyone in this COVID19 times, but I am looking forward to getting the next 2 books.

Has the migration finished yet? I‘m having difficulty seeing my newsfeed. I want to look at other people‘s posts!

rjsthumbelina Are you on the onward litsy FB page? Your page should be working again- mine came back right at the 8 hr mark. I know that I saw someone on here post a fix for people still having issues - but I guess you probably can't see that either! Give me a few minutes - I'll see if I can find it again to screenshot it 6y

This looks like fun so I‘m playing along. Guess my book:
1. “The horse vans parked along Seventh Avenue came loaded up with dreams.”
2. 280, not including extras like notes, author interview, etc.
3. Fascination
4. Harry and Dave Kelley
5. 50/50 green and white
6. Nonfiction
7. Harry / from
9. White
9. E.L.
10. Nope, just the phrase “it was time”
11. 2011
12. Gwen Cooper
13. Just barely
15. Nope, but I rarely read nonfiction

Kaye Doggone. I was hoping I could guess this when you said it was NF. I read lots of that but apparently not enough 😂 6y
MeganAnn @Kaye 😂 I read very little NF, but I don‘t think this is a very popular one. My mom borrowed it to me. I‘ll give you a hint... it had a horse on the front cover and is about the journey of that horse and his owner 6y
Kaye Oh. Is it Seabiscuit ? 6y
Kaye Thanks for telling me.. see, I‘m not good at guessing these. 😁 6y

Damn that was awesome! I love how Wendy has the ability to make me invested so much in a story and its characters from page 1! This book was filled with so much sexual tension you could cut it with a knife! And man it made me cry a few times! I need book 2 now!!!!
