2nd book in this duology. This is the conclusion of this story but I can‘t say much without spoil the first book story. I liked this book more that the first one because I saw more action, intrigue, suspense and magic but it is still a YA book where the magic system is not complicated and characters are young. It is probably okay but I‘m rating it as a YA and bc I enjoyed it but is not great 3⭐️ #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackAuthor I like the cover 💙

In the follow up to Blood Like Magic, Voya has to move forward in an important role to try to protect her family from those who fear and hate magic and those who wield it. I really loved this duology, particularly the mixing of magic with a near-future world that includes implanted tech. I thought it was a great blend. They definitely need to be read in order. I look forward to more from Sambury.
