Everyone should read this book. I feel like I am more enlightened for having read it.

Quick read but wish I had finished it at home not on the train as it is hard to hold back the tears. Clunky writing. Not much romance except in the epilogue when his wife writes about their relationship. I think she is a better writer than he is.

Have just started reading this at work (I can't take my kindle so I panic bought a paperback for lunch) and it's just gorgeous. I love it when a lucky dip turns out to be a good pick :)

Pruzy I can empathize with the panic-buy for lunch break reading. I've bought my fair share of books from a drugstore. 7y
Bobznbits You can buy books from drugstores??? I think every shop should sell them, but I'm not sure I'd manage to convince the chemists to get on board with that 😝Clearly I need to move stateside. ( @Pruzy - Making a huge assumption there that you're American?) 7y
Pruzy @Bobznbits Canadian, actually, but I bet it's much the same in the States. You're from the UK I'm guessing?? 7y
Bobznbits I am :) I liked Canada anyway, now I like it even more. 📕📗📘📙 7y

Throughout college, my monastic, scholarly study of human meaning would conflict with my urge to forge and strengthen the human relationships that formed that meaning. If the unexamined life was not worth living, was the unlived life worth examining?

Paul's beautiful spirit and determination to find meaning in life and death was resonant in a profound way. Wrenching and beautiful.
