Will Darling is all right. His business is doing well, and so is his illicit relationship with Kim Secretan--disgraced aristocrat, ex-spy, amateur book-dealer. It's starting to feel like he's got his life under control. And then a brutal murder in a gentleman's club plunges them back into the shadow world of crime, deception, and the power of privilege. Worse, it brings them up against Kim's noble, hostile family, and his upper-class life where Will can never belong. With old and new enemies against them, and secrets on every side, Will and Kim have to fight for each other harder than ever-or be torn apart for good.

Dang, that's a heck of a ride. I love how much Will and Kim love each other, even though it took some hecking work to get to here.

And a quick update on my #BookSpinBingo, where I'm solidly tempted to go for four lines, or even a blackout. I have Curry and The Obelisk Gate on the go already, wouldn't hurt to pick up Bone Orchard, Dangerous to Know, Nemesis Games, Persephone Station and Fallow... surely?

It's amazing, Will and Kim are having fights and managing to TALK about it and make up RIGHT AWAY. It's really nice that they've actually made some emotional progress!

This was a fitting end for my two favourite flawed & broken romantics, Will & Kim, but I'm sad that this series is over. I dream of getting a follow-up one day that doesn't have them fighting nefarious forces & the awful people in Kim's aristocratic family, & instead has them both chilling out for the entire book, being absolutely & disgustingly in love with each other. The thriller aspect was fine, but their relationship is what makes this.

CarolynM Totally agree. 2y
batsy @CarolynM They are so 🥰🥰🥰 2y
BiblioLitten I‘ll start Slippery Creatures then! The series sound charming 🙂 2y
batsy @BiblioLitten It really is! It's fluffy but not sugary fluff, if that makes sense. There's depth & a bit of darkness. 2y

In her September newsletter, KJ Charles released a 23 page title that ties up Think of England, Proper English, and the Will Darling Adventures - all in a single epilogue. It‘s not on Litsy yet, though I have suggested it, but it was a nice look into the lives of the older couples and a neat bow on Will and Kim‘s partnership in life and work. An enjoyable read, that happens to be my 100th read of the year! Yay for that too! Read ‘em if ya got ‘em!

Still haven‘t read the second but now that I‘ve got the third…

CarolynM You probably should read the second one before this one. 3y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CarolynM, of course 😂 I just might get around to it now that I know I won‘t have to wait to find out how it ends 3y

In which Will and Kim do battle with Zodiac once more and find their HEA. Fun conclusion to the trilogy, but there's plenty of room to write more in the series (she says hopefully). #romantsy

Centique My library has these now so I‘ve put the first one on hold 🙌🙌 3y

I pre-ordered the third book in Charles' The Will Darling Adventures and it arrived today. I still need to read the 2nd book, though.😋

CarolynM Mine appeared on my Kindle on Wednesday. I decided to keep it for a weekend treat - might start tonight 🙂 3y
