A devastating explosion.
Three best friends are at the venue just to hear their favorite band . . . but only one of them makes it out alive.
A trunk full of planted evidence.
When police stop Dustin with a warrant to search his trunk, he knows it’s just a mistake. He’s former military and owns a security firm. But he’s horrified when they find explosives, and he can’t fathom how they got there.
An attorney who will risk it all for a friend.
Criminal attorney Jamie Powell was Dustin’s best friend growing up. They haven’t spoken since he left for basic training, but she’s the first one he thinks of when he’s arrested. Jamie knows she’s putting her career on the line by defending an accused terrorist, but she’d never abandon him. Someone is framing Dustin to take the fall for shocking acts of violence . . . but why?

Terri Blackstock is truly an expert storyteller! This book hooked me from the first page, so many twists and turns. This is a must read!! But make sure you have tissues for the ending !

Mehso-so

This is a crime mystery with a dose of religion on the side. I was expecting a romance since the library labeled it so.🙄
Told from 2 POVs, it is a story about a man who is falsely accused of a bombing of a venue where a presidential candidate is speaking. He calls his high school neighbor and friend who is now an attorney to represent him. They work together to solve the crime.
This book didn't work for me. There was not enough character..

TheSpineView For me and the plot didn't work. The author had a great idea for the plot. However, the execution was lacking. There should have been more tension in the plot and between the two characters. 3 ⭐️ 2y

Page 56:

The dog had a collar with a little silver nameplate. His name was Dude. She laughed. That sounded like something Dustin would name his dog. “Hey, Dude,“ she said. “I bet you need to go outside, don't you?“
