The Queen's Weapons | Anne Bishop
8 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Enter the dark and sensual realms of the Black Jewels, a world where power always has a price, in this sweeping story in the New York Times bestselling fantasy saga. They are Warlord Princes, men born to serve and protect. They are the Queen's Weapons, men born to destroy the Queen's enemies--no matter what face that enemy wears. Daemonar Yaslana knows how to be bossy yet supportive--traits he shares with his father, the Demon Prince, and his uncle, the High Lord of Hell. Within his generation of the family, he assumes the role of protector, supporting his sister Titians artistic efforts and curbing his cousin Jaenelle Saetiens more adventurous ideas. But when a young Eyrien Queen, someone Titian thought was a friend, inflicts an emotional wound, Daemonar's counterattack brings him under the tutelage of Witch, the Queen whose continued existence is known only to a select few. As Daemonar is confronted by troubling changes within and around the family, he sees warnings that a taint in the Blood might be reappearing. Daemonar, along with his father and uncle, must uncover the source of a familiar evil--and Daemon Sadi, the High Lord of Hell, may be forced into making a terrible choice.

June26 #BookMoods Made you cry 😢 This is the last book on this series unless the author writes another. When you fall in love with certain characters and then they die or they go through some horrible thing, you get so caught up with emotions @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Read the hardcover version of this when it was released a couple of months ago. Now I finished the audio version. Love Anne Bishop, always have to do a hard read and an audio read on her stuff. Even better than the first time around, I love the audio versions of her books.

The newest book in the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop. Been waiting anxiously for this and it did not disappoint. It really tied up a lot of the bits and pieces from the last book while also giving some intense and unexpected character development. A satisfying read, I couldn‘t put it down. Can‘t recommend this series enough.

Jovy I love this series!! ♥️ 3y

Last year when the pandemic hit, one of the first books I read was The Queen's Bargain by Anne Bishop and it was so nice to revisit a familiar world. It brought me out of my reading rut. Black Jewels is one of my favorite series and while the original trilogy is still tge best, I love to see the stories continue for these characters. 😊

Mmm. A pick, but not beloved; and it's pretty brutal. I liked the balance of plots in this book so much more than the last previous, but I'd still rather be reading completely outside the perspectives of the original main cast.

Canon ladies dating!! And this is the most open about it Bishop has ever been. Prior books have had same sex characters 'sharing a house', or a stated preference with no on-page depiction, or Karla's vague 'no interest in men' which always read more asexual to me.

TW, animal abuse/death, threat to children, developing and escalating serial abusers.

I had been unhappy with the direction and conclusion of the previous book in this sub-duology, and when this one downloaded I skipped straight to the last handful of chapters. #releasedayyay

esurient It seems very series conclude-ish, solid full-circle resolution, which isn't bad although I had enjoyed the conclusion at 'The High Lord's Daughter' 3y
esurient This is a terrible app, and this is a terrible phone, and the damn backspace button is separated from the send button by a negligible amount. 3y
