I got a day with Casey! Hurray!

He‘s currently helping me tackle the last story in this Korean collection about a skyscraper city. Alas, it‘s the sort of ideas-over-people SF I struggle to click with, so I ain‘t as wowed as the folks who recced it to me. There‘s enough meat here that I‘ll finish it, at least, but it won‘t make my list of stellar short fiction recs.

xicanti @Mimi28 he‘s actually my little dog-brother! I‘m the sibling who swoops into his life every now and then smelling like other people‘s pets. 🥰 2mo
xicanti @dabbe his hair‘s growing so faaaaast. He‘s scheduled for a haircut next week so he doesn‘t expire from the heat. His fur is so thick he struggles with that in the winter, let alone in August. 2mo

Pickpick

What a wonderfully strange collection of short stories set in a city-state skyscraper of immense proportions in Korea. It's a bit sci-fi with robots, a bit absurdism with dog actors and elephants reaching nirvana, & a bit dystopian with gov ineptitude and corruption centered around things as absurd as elevator routes. I absolutely loved it & managed to read it in only a handful of days despite being in a terrible reading slump.

Pickpick

Witty, dark and imaginative, this political satire set in speculative Korea includes six interconnected stories about the lives of the citizens of a 647-building that acts as its own sovereign nation. Recommend to those who enjoy political satire and speculative fiction and for those looking to expand their world just a little bit.
