Enjoying all three of these books, but especially this one!

Such beautifully written sentences! I loved the two main characters and their dual POV. My one complaint is that there are only 9 chapters in the book, which made for some super long reading sessions for me.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book is wonderful not just because of the love story of the immediate and enduring connection between two people, but because of how beautifully it's written (take the highlighted passage as an example), and the subject matter it touches on - the world of classical guitar (Makino) is masterfully handled, as is his writing about Yoko's journalism, Iraq and refugees. It was a joy to read even when it made me sad. Highly recommended.

I'm taking a break from Empire of Pain to read this recommendation from my sister. It's quite dense and I've only read 80 pages so far, but it's beautifully written and I'm enjoying its slow, descriptive style.
