pickProbably my favorite in this series so far. This story centers around Nash Pope, part of an elite force who was blinded while fighting Napoleon. After two years of seclusion he remains surly and at times dangerous as he struggles with what we now call PTSD. Prudence Howard is a poor missionaries‘ daughter left behind because of her wayward behavior as her parents journey to the Far East. Prudence is especially striking as she is a strong, 🔻
robinb straightforward, unconventional young woman. She takes no nonsense from Nash and knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid/shy to go after it. While the story is fairly predictable, it‘s the characters (both primary and secondary) who shine and really engaged me and often made me laugh out loud. Enjoyed! 4.5/5⭐️ Out 2/9. 3y
