Pickpick

Definitely a unique take on possession. I liked reading about the aftermath. I also loved the unique way ghosts are portrayed in this book and how environment affects them. While this book does get gross at some points, if you‘ve ever dabbled in bizarro or read a Nick Cutter book, the gross bits are pretty tame in comparison. This book left me wanting a sequel.

Another one down for #BookSpinBingo

Carrie doesn‘t know what day it is. The Wishes have ravished her body, they have destroyed her home, left her friendless, jobless and on the lam. After a torturous exorcism she‘s trying to put her life back together and fill this new emptiness inside her. Many reviewers have found this one too gratuitous, but I felt the grossness (and it is gross) was balanced with a charming lead. This isn‘t for the faint of heart.

I saw the cover of this book this summer and have been hunting for a copy for MONTHS. My library has a bit of a sad horror collection, so I was thrilled to get a review copy on net galley.
