I rated this one a 3⭐️ As it was a good easy book to read but not edge of your seat kind of gripping.

I read this in one sitting and enjoyed it. This book is about a mortuary technician (Cassie). She went back to college and got qualifications due to a woman she did not know encouraging her, who was then her teacher. The teachers ends up deceased and story is about how it looks accidental but she doesn‘t think it was.

Pickpick

Cassie Raven works as a mortuary technician, she is skilled at her job and yet she also has another secret talent, she communes with the dead, whom she sees as her clients.
She gets a flash of their last feelings, emotions and moments.
But then she has a client whom she recognised.
Mrs. Geraldine Edwards who was her teacher.
Outwardly the report looks fine, everything normal yet Cassie had a glimpse from her and she knows something is not right.

This was such a fascinating read. The mystery of the murder coupled with Cassie's abilities makes for interesting reading. The plot is steadily paced and builds to a dramatic and clever finish. I had worked out part of the mystery but the extra twist towards the end was a brilliant idea. I love when a thriller catches me out. Cassie is instantly likeable and she's a brilliant lead. #readersfirst 4*
