Life with the Afterlife: 13 Truths I Learned about Ghosts | Amy Bruni
6 posts | 6 read | 1 to read
!--[if gte mso 9] ![endif]-- Star of Kindred Spirits and paranormal investigator Amy Bruni shares stories from her years of experiences with ghosts, organized around thirteen truths that guide her approach to the supernatural. Amy Bruni, co-star of Kindred Spirits and one of the world's leading paranormal investigators, has learned a lot about ghosts over her years of research and first-hand experience. Now, in Life with the Afterlife, she shares the insight she has gleaned and how it has shaped her unique approach to interacting with the spirits of the dead and those who encounter them. From her earliest supernatural encounters as a child, through her years appearing on Ghost Hunters and the creation of her company Strange Escapes, which offers paranormal excursions to some of America's most notoriously haunted destinations, and into her current work on The Travel Channel's Kindred Spirits, this book is full of astonishing and deeply moving stories of Amy's efforts to better understand the dead but not yet departed. With Amy's bright humor and fierce compassion for both those who are haunted and those who are haunting, Life with the Afterlife is an eye-opening look at what connects us as people, in life and beyond.

I finished my #BookSpin. It was ok. She offered some interesting theories and information. I like reading about some of her experiences. I also listened to her interview on Ghosted and watched an episode of her show today.

I‘ve watched pretty much every paranormal show Amy has been on and I think she and Adam make an incredible team. Their show Kindred Spirits is why I subscribe to Discovery+.
I liked Amy‘s backstory and learning how she even came to be interested in the paranormal and how it was actually pretty normal for her growing up. I can certainly appreciate her perspective and wanting to help someone in need - even if that is from beyond the grave.

Love the show, love Amy Bruni, but... This book needs extreme editing. The chapter titles are snappy and interesting, yet the content is choppy, unfocused, and doesn't give new information beyond what you see in the show. Basically the intro about Amy's childhood paranormal experiences was great. It should have been an article. :(

I've been binge-watching Kindred Spirits, so this is the logical next pick.

I am not normally an audiobook fan, but I had a free credit and really wanted to read this book. I ended up listening to it while driving to and from my gentleman caller (6.5 hours round trip). I love the author and the shows she had been on (Ghost Hunters and Kindred Spirits). It was an enjoyable listen!

I have no idea what the 13 truths are but I ALWAYS enjoy a story of a ghost encounter. There‘s lots of info in this book about ghost hunting equipment, the author‘s experience on ghost hunting tv, and how her current show is so different from other ghost hunting content (it‘s not). I still liked listening and would recommend this to friends who also enjoy a spooky story. #ReadYourWay
