Three crime lords control the Glasgow's murky post-war streets, but a small-scale con is trying to invade their territory. This is a great start to what I would call a hardboiled detective series. Interesting spin: Lennox is a Canadian in Scotland! I would liken it somewhat to Ross Macdonald‘s Lew Archer series, but the violence is more graphic.
