The Sicilian
The Sicilian | Mario Puzo
After Mario Puzo wrote his internationally acclaimed The Godfather, he has often been imitated but never equaled. Puzo's classic novel, The Sicilian, stands as a cornerstone of his work--a lushly romantic, unforgettable tale of bloodshed, justice, and treachery. . . . The year is 1950. Michael Corleone is nearing the end of his exile in Sicily. The Godfather has commanded Michael to bring a young Sicilian bandit named Salvatore Guiliano back with him to America. But Guiliano is a man entwined in a bloody web of violence and vendettas. In Sicily, Guiliano is a modern day Robin Hood who has defied corruption--and defied the Cosa Nostra. Now, in the land of mist-shrouded mountains and ancient ruins, Michael Corleone's fate is entwined with the dangerous legend of Salvatore Guiliano: warrior, lover, and the ultimate Siciliano. From the Paperback edition.

323 pages. The book on the misterious mafia world has definitely wrapped me into their intrigues, betrayals and fights. It appeared to be the 2nd book from the 3, so looking forward to read the other 2❤

I read this years ago and enjoyed it a great deal. I loved the audio book, narrated by a full cast.

I have been all over the place in my reading selection today and couldn't get into a book. After seeing The Godfather on the big screen, I decided to read the sequel since I read The Godfather a few years ago!

The Godfather is one of my all-time favorite novels, so I can't wait to read more about Michael in The Sicilian.

priyafsr It is a good read and made me a live through the Sicilian streets as I read it.. Felt a slow paced book.. but the climax went off in like a flash.. Cant believe it.. Love Mario Puzo 7y

At our first of two bookclubs today that @BookBabe & I run in NYC. This is a picture of "The Sicilian", but we're actually discussing "The Godfather"--I lent our copy to a member who can't make it today, but we have the sequel's copy on hand! Lol. ?

cariashley Are you at a Le Pain?? 8y
