Emily goes to anger management group because of a court order. There she meets Jake who‘s struggling to cope with his autistic son. It‘s far from love at first sight for them but there‘s an instant connection between her and the son which changes everything. A lot is from the author‘s experience and you can feel the frustration, guilt, tenderness and joy. The characters felt so real; flawed but not annoying. Somehow this was both cute and tough👇

Cosyreader I liked reading from different perspectives, including Alfie‘s, and getting an insight into autism. I also liked that the characters aren‘t classically beautiful - in fact I don‘t think there‘s any description of Emily‘s body other than her head 👍. I did think the story worked out quite neatly (very suddenly) at the end but then that‘s what I tend to like. Solid 4 ⭐️ 3y
