No one gets something for nothing. We all should know better. Teenagers at Wisconsins Nottawa High School are drawn deeper into a social networking site that promises to grant their every need . . . regardless of the consequences. Soon the site turns sinister, with simple pranks escalating to malicious crimes. The body count rises. In this chilling YA thriller, the author of the best-selling Testing trilogy examines not only the dark side of social media, but the dark side of human nature.

I teach high school remedial reading and this book was in the collection the local teen librarian made for my classes. Only 1 student chose this during our “speed date a book” activity so I took it home and read it this weekend. OMG so good!!! It reminded me a lot of the movie Nerve. Very quick read, short chapters, and easy to get sucked in!

I loved the writing style of this book. This book is a little scary showing what teenagers will do to get something they "need."

⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the first YA thriller that I read, and I admit I had to stop reading it before bed most nights because of the intensity of it. The book highlights how far teenagers are willing to go to get something that they classify as a 'need'- iPhones, concert tickets, money etc and the repercussions of their choices. I quite enjoyed the constant mystery throughout.

A group of high school students are invited to join a new social networking site that appears to grant their requests in return for completion of a task. As the tasks become increasingly demanding and more dangerous, the question becomes how far will the students go to earn their "need." Also, who is behind the site and what is it's true purpose? This is a compelling YA read, even if you must have a little willing suspension of disbelief...

Started this audiobook a couple days ago and I am almost halfway through it. Enjoying it so far. It's a terrifying concept.

This book explores a terrifying social engineering concept that can only be executed with the help of a mad scientist! All it takes to hook in unwitting victims is a simple question: what do you need? 😯 Won't say more, to avoid spoilers. ~ #Day27 #MadScientist #octphotochallenge #bookphotochallenge ~ @LibrarianRyan

This book was just OK. I didn't really engage with the main character and the book has pacing issues. It was very slow till the last 5th or so then it rushed to the end. Not horrible, but not great.
