Pickpick

Published in 1983, Daphne's Book changed the way I thought about the world. I learned so much about empathy, friendship, standing up for others, knowing which secrets are okay to keep, and appreciating different experiences. This book tells the story of Daphne and Jessica, two unlikely friends who were paired together for an English class project. It's one of the few chapter books that I read multiple times as a child. I highly recommend it.

Fun Friday post--shouldn't claim a middle grade novel I first read 20+ years ago as my fave, but I do. Still return to it for life lessons in friendship, loss and decision making. My mom wrote me a lovely inscription in 1995; must grab the book from her house. This is the cover from my childhood.
