And my non- profit arts organization is shutting down for three weeks. I wanted more time to read, but not like this.

Leftcoastzen I‘m sorry it‘s like this. 4y
Liz_M @Leftcoastzen It's all a bit of a mess. On the one-hand precautions are necessary as is protecting vulnerable populations, but the potential long-term damage to the economy and therefore the individuals with the fewest resources is worrisome. As is the ridiculous lines in the grocery store when all I want is a pound of coffee. 😞 4y
Aimeesue That makes me sad. I listened to the British plan today, and even though I had to look at Boris Johnson's muppet hair, I was surprisingly reassured. I wish we had the foresight and ability to put their plan in place. Cancelling everything all at once is going to give us pandemic fatigue and we won't be able to flatten that peak, which is worrying. ☹️ 4y

SamAnne So sorry. I work for a conservation non-profit. It has upended my work. 4y
BarbaraBB Things go so fast it‘s scary. Wishing you all the best. With books and coffee for now ❤️ (edited) 4y
batsy It is the worst kind of mess. Hang in there and I hope it doesn't have overwhelming long-term effects ❤️ 4y
Liz_M @SamAnne I'm sorry to hear this. I hope you and your family stay well and weather this craziness! 💜 4y
Liz_M @BarbaraBB You'd think all the dystopian lit I've read would have better prepared me for this. 🙄 I have plenty of books, coffee, and enough savings to last a short while. I hope your life isn't disrupted too much and you and your family stay healthy & sane. 4y
Liz_M @batsy It is! I hope you and your family are doing as well as can be expected and that life returns to normalcy soon! 💙 4y
arubabookwoman Sorry to hear this. So far 2 of my NYC kids (Brooklyn & Queens) are ordered to work from home. The 3rd (Manhattan) still has to go to work & probably can‘t work from home-she‘s a scientist. Her commute is by ferry, wh seems safer to me than subway. All 3 report lines at the grocery. 4y
Graywacke Wishing you well through all this. Crazy period. 4y

My book choice from Octavia‘s—written by a proud resister who was involved in rebuilding communities after Katrina. Whenever I visit a local bookstore on my travels, I try to find books that are signed and relevant to the area. #literarytourism #nola #urbanhikeforbooks

Amiable That‘s a fabulous practice. 👍🏼 4y
jillrhudy I didn‘t get anything signed but I bought a Faulkner book in the room where he wrote it. There‘s a little bookshop in Pirate‘s Alley in the Quarter. 4y
