Father Christmas has even had his evil twins like Krampus dealing out punishment for the children who misbehave all year round. However there is a Christmas legend of a different kind who deals out punishment during the festive period; Frau Perchta, the Christmas belly-slitter. This book looks at the legend of the festive spectre who is famous for her punishments but could also reward the well behaved. - 500ml of Milk
- 40g of white flour
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of honey...

Linsy ...Method:
- Bring the milk to a gentle boil in a pan, slowly whisking and ensuring that the milk does not burn or overflow.
- The tricky part is next which could be aided by having a handy assistant. Whilst stirring the milk, use a sieve to gently add the flour to the milk, letting the flour ‘snow‘ into the mixture. Try to avoid lumps of flour in the milk as Frau Perchta can be easily riled by flour lumps.

Linsy - Continue to stir until the milk and flour become creamy in texture and then remove from the heat.
- Add the pinch of salt and stir in the butter. Stir the ingredients until the butter melts and ensure that the Bachlkoch does not have a layer of skin, this is another dislike of Perchta.
- Finally to serve add some honey, drizzling it across the Bachlkoch and enjoy!

Linsy As with many recipes, this can vary from household to household, but generally something sweet is added as a final touch, honey the most common addition. Sometimes a sprinkle of oatmeal is added to make the food a little more filling.” 4y
